River System and the ecosystem that surrounds the mighty river.

discussion, and other activities. A
complete lesson plan is also included. This can be easily adapted for grades
3-4, although the site is primarily geared for grades 5-8.
This site is awesome for those teachers who want to customize any geographical
information they are teaching. The site has kits and activities for a wide array
of maps. World maps, continent maps, regional, and too many more to describe.
Maps can be printed or downloaded.

Speaks: New Vocabulary Activities
This is a treasure trove of interactive activities both audio and visual for
introducing new vocabulary concepts to students in K-5 grades.
The site uses the PBS show Martha Speaks character to introduce and
facilitate learning. There are tons
of different levels and activities included. Complete lesson plans and resources
are included in the site.

level of speller. This is a great resource if you are looking for enhancement
activities and differentiated instruction.
This site is another awesome site based from the long time PBS series Sesame
Street. It promotes decoding skills with the silent e and has links to other
pages for other phonemic decoding activities. It is perfect for k-3 language
arts. It is video and audio based in includes full lessons and resources.
Different Dialects of American English
This site consists of a
variety of maps that show the differences in how many regions in the United
States speak. There is no audio,
however, there is an enunciation guide that decodes the words. It is an awesome
resource for demonstration the differences in American culture.
This is an article that
offers interesting tips for teaching creative writing and the writing process in
general. They can be adapted to
suit any grade level.

Need I say more? This site is self explanatory. There are suggestions for grades
4-12.
Ice Cube in a Box: Science Project
This site has a video demonstrating the outcomes of the experiment along with
the instructions for the experiment.
Discussion questions are also included. The site says K-5 grades,
however, in my opinion; it appears to be better for 3-5.

This is a cool activity that allows students to practice critical thinking math
skills and writing skills. Students
write specific word problems and then include them in a letter that is sent to
another classmate. The site recommends 3-5 but I can see this activity easily
built up to grade 8.
Writing Literary Text using the World of Volcanoes
This activity comes complete with video, lesson plan, and rubric.
Students watch a short video of a volcano erupting.
After the viewing, students then are asked to use similes and metaphors
and write a poem about what they saw.
This lesson is appropriate for grades 6+
Reading Comprehension with Graphic Organizers
This activity uses a graphic organizer to teach students to analyze what they
read more efficiently. The lesson
includes a complete set of plans, a video, handouts, and rubric. It is
appropriate for grades 4-8.
