Mission Statement:
It is the mission of the Dorsey Attendance Center Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) to provide resources, materials, and a variable means of communication for the teachers and parents of Dorsey School.
About the PTO:
The PTO's goal is for all students to receive a quality education and provide the classroom teacher the resources necessary to provide for students. All classroom teachers are eligible to apply for min- grants from the PTO. The grants are available year round.
The PTO meets once monthly and honors students chosen for the Student of the Month. These students were chosen by their teachers for their outstanding character, work ethic, and community service. There is one boy and one girl from each grade level chosen for this honor each month.
In addition to honoring the student of the month, the meetings provide opportunities for parents to speak with teachers and become involved in the education process. The meetings provide an opportunity for face to face communications between parents and teachers.
Meetings generally last no more than an hour and discuss the needs of the school and future activities of the organization.
All parents and community members are invited to attend the meetings.
