Jaime Martin, Librarian

      Mrs. Jaime has been in the teaching profession for 13 years. This is her 6th year at Dorsey Attendance Center. She has taught fourth grade, kindergarten, and junior high reading before she became a librarian. This is her 6th year to be the librarian for our school. Mrs. Jaime has a B.S.in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University. She is also a certified librarian.

      In addition to her regular library duties, Mrs. Jaime also conducts a weekly story-time for kindergarten through 3rd grade classes. She also assists with reading groups for the 1st grade classes.

     Mrs. Jaime loves her job!! She enjoys working with the children. She lives in the Dorsey community and attends a local church. Because of her ties with the community, she believes this makes her job easier.

 

In honor of Black History Month, a local poet, Patricia Neely Dorsey visited Dorsey Attendance Center to share her book of poems, Reflections of a Mississippi Magnolia.  Mrs. Dorsey discussed all the positive experiences and memories she had as a child growing up in the state of Mississippi.
